Augsburg is not a single stretch of road but a long haul. The works are planned to run for at least three years, and the network going in is to reach 300,000 customers.

Next Glasfaser's part is to carry the service the whole way to the customer. In fibre work that is the part a network map does not show, and it is the part people judge the whole job by: the last stretch from the street into the flat, an arrangement made with each household on its own, and the measurement that says the connection really works.

The last stretch, from the street into the flat, never shows on a network map, and it is the part people judge the whole job by.

Next Glasfaser has worked in Germany since 2024, from Böblingen, and has so far taken part in building networks for operators there. Augsburg is that same work carried on, over a longer stretch of time.
